I always thought bigamy was illegal
So why is HM Government giving money to 'polygamous marriages'?
I saw something on Twitter recently which I assumed must be ‘fake news’. Frustratingly, it wasn’t.
It suggested that those in ‘polygamous marriages’ receive more housing benefit: an extra £114.80 ‘for each additional spouse’. In addition, those in ‘polygamous marriages’ can claim extra pension credit.
For those unsure of what is being referred to by ‘polygamy’, the Child Benefit Regulations 2006 spell it out:
(…) a polygamous marriage is treated as having the same consequences as a monogamous marriage for any day, but only for any day, throughout which the polygamous marriage is in fact monogamous.
(…) “polygamous marriage” means a marriage celebrated under a law which, as it applies to the particular ceremony and to the parties in question, permits polygamy;
What that first sentence means I cannot pretend to understand. The upshot, however, is that British legislation recognises ‘polygamous marriages’. This is peculiar as I had for my entire life believed that bigamy – as it is correctly known – is illegal in the United Kingdom.
As the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 quite clearly stipulates:
Whosoever, being married, shall marry any other person during the life of the former husband or wife, whether the second marriage shall have taken place in England or Ireland or elsewhere, shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof shall be liable . . . to be kept in penal servitude for any term not exceeding seven years . . .
Those silly Victorians: had they not anticipated that by the 2020s British law must accommodate the bridal mores of Moors?
What would once have been inconceivable is today’s reality. We subsidise foreign cultural practices via the public purse, making no demands that arrivals to this country eschew their imported practices and abide by ours.
And, with a newly elected Parliament, we witness the likes of Naz Shah – who famously ‘liked’ a tweet calling for the victims of Pakistani grooming gangs to ‘shut their mouths [for] the good of diversity!’ – being sworn in while dressed in a hijab, her hand on a Koran and swearing by ‘almighty Allah’.
Again, what was once inconceivable is now permitted and scepticism strictly forbidden. ‘Islam’ itself means ‘submission’, and it is an inherently political religious which informs its adherents that Islamic law is superior to all others. Such facts cannot comfortably coexist with British democratic and legal traditions.
Nevertheless we are encouraged to believe that this is a sign of Britain’s successful conversion into a multi-faith democracy. Maybe it is, but then comes the question: who ever asked for the UK to become one in the first place? We, the electorate, were certainly never consulted.
For all the niceties in the world – the cult of multiculturalism being premised upon the sidelining of crucial issues and the elevating of the trivial (i.e. the continual worshipping of new and exciting foods brought along by incoming groups) – we must at some point come down to brass tacks. For example: only one law can be valid – is ‘polygamous marriage’ legal, or is it, in fact, bigamy?
Answering these questions amid Islam’s increasing political clout grows more difficult by the day.
The number of Muslim MPs now stands at 25, some of whom who were helped into office by ‘The Muslim Vote’. While not an official political party, it claims directly to be ‘a powerful, united force of 4 million acting in unison’. Ergo, it is a sectarian organisation.
One need only look briefly to Northern Ireland (or any other flashpoint across the globe) to see the disastrous consequences of sectarianism in action. Having overcome decades of bloodshed, we have decided to import another creed liable to violent spasms, driving a further wedge through the body politick.
For those thinking I am exaggerating, let us look briefly at some of the candidates The Muslim Vote endorsed who subsequently won seats.
We have Iqbal Mohamed MP of Dewsbury, who, upon being elected, delivered a speech surrounded by Palestinian flags, speaking of the evils of Zionism and that people must go home and throw away any product associated with Israel. Campaign videos featured him with a black-green-white-and-red rosette.
Let us also remember that this is in the same town where a teacher who, showing a cartoon of Muhammed, had his life destroyed and went into hiding due to the very real risk posed to his life.
Then there is Adnan Hussein MP in Blackburn, who, upon being elected, delivered a speech whose peroration ended with the words: "We will raise our voice for Gaza! We will continue to fight, until death, inshallah!"
When Blackburn was a white working-class town, there were not half as many ‘inshallahs’ being thrown around, nor was Gaza at the forefront of political debate. Thankfully Blackburn’s population has been altered to such an extent (35% of the town was Muslim in 2021) that its political concerns now transcend the boring confines of the UK and are concentrated within the disputed territories of Palestine.
Elsewhere we have Shockat Adam, MP for Leicester South. Ignore that one of supporters was just the other day arrested on terrorism charges and concentrate instead on, again, his claim that his victory was ‘for the people of Gaza’ – which is odd, since Leicester I thought Leicester was in the Midlands.
Labour MP Jess Phillips, who came within 693 of losing her seats to the Muslim convert Jody McIntyre, refused to accept that the men who had abused her and her campaigners – and continued to heckle her during her victory speech – did so because of their Islamic beliefs. Instead, she claimed with the self-deceit of a coward in thrall to progressive shibboleths, that they did so because they were ‘idiots’.
Maybe they were idiots, but they weren’t just idiots, were they?
Personally, I think the idiots are those who refuse to accept that the demographic changes in our country are having decidedly deleterious effects upon our nation. The importing of a highly aggressive religious culture has effectively gagged public discussion, as people are too afraid of the very real consequences of speaking out.
Such rank cowardice permitted some of the greatest crimes in British history to take place. The systematic rape of white British girls across the length and breadth of our country was permitted due the pusillanimity of our culture and our elites, yet being merely working-class (and mostly white) girls, they were happily thrown into multiculturalism’s meat grinder.
Human history is not characterised by the victory of the weak-willed. Those unbothered by their civilisation’s survival are simply no longer around to tell their tale. It is survivorship bias to assume otherwise. Only those who will fight will survive.
We are rapidly approaching a point where if no re-imposition of British cultural values occurs – informed by our Christian heritage and the supremacy of our laws and culture – our nation will disappear. This process is already underway, with, among other things, state largesse directed towards marital arrangements which are, according to our own laws, illegal.
There can be no equivocation. If you come to the UK you must abide by our laws and adapt to our culture. If you feel you cannot do this, you must leave. It is a simple formula, but one that requires backbone to implement.
Whether we can find that in time remains in doubt.
Gosh, so many things to discuss...
Rht Hon Dame Jess 'fog horn' Phillips PLC Mums-Net.com, who tried to say yet again that men are the root of all evil even on the podium after winning her seat, exemplified the faux passion which infects so many of the political elite. As Frederick points out every day, endorsed by State stupidity initiated under the Home office tenure of Dame-Dame J Smith Esq, the Police are told to leave those who might use the 'R' word well alone. So, the industrial scale rape gangs continue.
The idea we can tolerate a religion is core to our beliefs.
The idea we yield totally to a malformed politically motivated version of a religion is not.
So, dumb State, can we marry as many people as we want, or not?
The answer, based on Christian values, is we can't.
As a tax payer, I object to State abuse of my wealth.
Polygamy is legal for Muslims. Bigamy is illegal for Christians (and, presumably, people of all other faiths).
Nobody was asked if they wanted their country changed like this. Nobody has any obvious solution. Nobody (other than the metropolitan elite) even knows what multi-culturism is. People simply live in ghettos. I grew up in Gravesend back in the 1970s. White mostly working class plus a large Sikh community. Never any trouble - the National Front never bothered to visit. However, the girls I went to school with who were from the sub-continent were allowed to wear trousers and scarves, didn't have to attend morning assembly and didn't ever make friends with any one white. They all disappeared at 16 into arranged marriages with men brought over from the Punjab. We were all expected to make allowances for their way of life. They weren't expected to assimilate. As an adult I did a course in teaching English as a foreign language. The white middle class women didn't allow me to teach the Indian wives because I thought the idea of unconscious racism was stupid and, unless I agreed to admit I was inherently white, I wasn't allowed to help. I'm not dissing the Sikhs - great people who know how to throw a party - I'm dissing the frigging white middle class twats in positions of authority who think it's wonderful to have lots of nice middle class foreigners living here plus some working class ones for cheap labour who they don't have to take any notice of. Interestingly, the 1970s Sikhs I knew didn't like the few Muslims who lived nearby!
