With this mind, do you believe that Putin would blow up his own gas pipelines, at vast cost, rather than just turn off the tap?

I agree. Why would he destroy his own leverage and opportunity to enable a separate deal with Germany over the winter, that Poland and Ukraine could not prevent? The only winners from this are western hawks who want the war to go on.
This basic logic has, of course, not stopped all the paid for members of the deep state, media and “think tanks” seeding the propaganda that “Putin did it.” Shocking that some people even believe them.
