Dear Edward, the objective of the past month is two fold - to accuse the entire British Public of being criminal without any justification by a former Barrister who happens to be Prime Minister, and to put the entire British Public into a virtual lock down via hefty restriction on information sources.
This is self inflicted, but not by the British Public.
It is by a very small group of self-regarding influential people to further their own selfish agenda.
The Prime Minister and Home Secretary should resign because both have openly communicated - on record - material designed to incite violent reactions. Incompetent? A mistake? Perhaps.
The British Public need to focus on a very small group of self-regarding influential people.
The British public needs courage, but also to wake up. I think it will only be amid some kind of economic catastrophe that heads are bashed together sufficiently to make them realise what has gone wrong.
The catastrophe is underway - Net Zero. It is compounding the financial disaster of Covid-19 lockdowns, and accelerating debt at an ever increasing pace. It is a very public demonstration of policy failure.
HM Gov have put £1.5 billion in subsidies for the next tranche of wind power contracts, via Mr M. The same week Government let it be known energy prices will go up in the autumn - even though there is no global energy issue driving this. Our Government think we can't see what is going on.
For anyone who's been to a country where random energy cut happen and last for hours at a time, we know what is heading our way this very winter... If this does happen, watch the fur fly!
"Nil desperandum", said the ancient Romans and suggested personal retreat: "etiam si omnes, ego non". Meanwhile, one can always point out that 'change' is detrimental because the Net Zeroists are demonstrating that they don't want change at all. What's good for the climate is good for us, innit like ...
It certainly is a bit grim - but nobody said that life won't be grim, in one way or another. How to deal with grimness - that's the challenge which many others have had to face up to and which they overcame, not by outward acts of 'heroism' but by all the small, everyday acts which are equally heroic, despite not being sung about in ballads or remembered in History.
I too have given up on any optimism I might have had - my only consolation is that I am old so will be dead before the masked and bearded young men take full control.
However, I have daughters and I often feel I should apologise to them.
The country I grew up in has pretty much disappeared - going to London now (a place I spent my entire life going in and out of on pretty much a daily basis) is like going to a foreign country. Not just the foreigners who aren't tourists but the theatres and exhibitions which are full of hectoring Woke rubbish about how dreadful the British have always been. A combination of uncontrolled immigration of people who don't really care where they are so long as it's not where they come from plus a metropolitan elite putting on cultural and commentary pretty much just for each other.
Two completely opposing ideologies and we "normal" people are stuck in the middle. Berated by the Oxbridge Crowd for being gammon and terfs. Harassed by the bearded blokes for being infidels and apostates.
I have been spending more time in London lately and I find anywhere that is not one of the quiet residential streets to be generally awful. Anywhere near a transport hub - tube interchanges - are invariably depressing beyond compare. I had to walk through Brixton the other night to pick up something I had bought off eBay. What a place!
Steer you daughters (if they are of that age?) towards skills and professions that give them geographic mobility. They can always stay if they find they prefer to, but at least having the option to run away is there. If I could live my life again I'd do something like Comp Sci at uni so I could go anywhere (almost).
My daughters are adults - one is married to a Greek, the other lives with a white Zimbabwean. Both in London, well south east London. The Greek couple have lived both here and there - they are back here because the corruption is less! The Zimmy isn't wanted in his own country so that's not an option and it's even more corrupt than Greece. They would all like to leave London but need the London wages to pay mortgages with.
I was in London today - W1 area - mostly foreigners, lots of money and plenty of head coverings plus a smattering of the white British metropolitan class who live in such a wealthy bubble they don't see what we all see.
One daughter worked in Brixton until recently and lives in Deptford - she reckons white people are invisible in these places now (bit like in Zimbabwe apparently).
Must be tough for the Rhodesian to come from one failing state to end up in another! Hopefully it's a little while still we're at Salisbury-levels of self-implosion, anyway...
Looking at how the entire UK mainstream, both TV and newspapers, all carry the same commentary, images and photos about this week's state sponsored "counter protests", with far left militants routinely described as "anti-racists", I wonder whatever happened to freedom of the press? In the UK it seems to have disappeared a long time ago. It's refreshing to come here and still see people like you calling it for what it is. #2tiermedia
The synchronised outrage, use of same titles and photos and labels... any pretence of media independence is a hoax. They're merely an extension of the executive.
I should first say I'm neither a Brit nor live there. But recently read a Brit crime novel from the last decade which spoke of grooming gangs, and how there was minimal clampdown for fear of being accused of racism. But more than that, because the girls raped were from poor communities so in a sense invisible. Published in 2016, I did wonder if the writer would have been cancelled if he wrote that today.
When your PM took the knee for BLM, I wonder if he realised BLM included trans and queer theory. I learned this from an article some months ago about a snow at-home learning day in Boston revealed that to parents via a Black History Month colouring book. Also, no mention was made of greats like MLK or Rosa Parks; but some parents from China and the former USSR recognised the Marxist language in these children’s books!
Yes, but its application was immediately followed by thousands of hours of debate. Were it some fat white thugs doing the same in the airport (aka beating up the coppers) it would have been a non-story.
The thousands of hours of debate was because initially the clips were only the police beating up the thugs, who at the time were not portrayed as thugs as they had seemingly done nothing wrong. Once the whole story was revealed the news coverage stopped except for the stamping on the head incident, which would make the news under any circumstances
Couldn't agree more. The Telegraph is not fit for purpose, unless its purpose is purely as a propaganda outlet, in which case it is doing rather well.
And that Brecht quote is on the money. Witnessing Labour et al turn against their traditional base in quite the way it has in recent years has been shocking, but only understandable in the importation of a new base together with appealing to idiot white bourgeois types.

The white working class does have a community leader - it's Tommy Robinson and he is indeed being treated exactly as you say.
Stephen Yaxley-Lemon is not your friend.

I quite agree. I am making my own plans and schemes to minimise the madness' impact, but still, all a bit grim!

We survived the Black Death and the Puritans. Courage, mon brave.
Note to self: must cheer up.

Why can't they all just go away?

Indeed, it's all in plain sight now

Didn’t the police use quite a bit of force at Manc airport recently? Certainly did on the clips I saw
Yes, but its application was immediately followed by thousands of hours of debate. Were it some fat white thugs doing the same in the airport (aka beating up the coppers) it would have been a non-story.

Yes; because a selected clip was initially presented out of context to present a certain image...
As is often the case online - you get the final 5 seconds of a video ripped of its context, all done to provoke a certain reaction.
Is that definitely the case? It was designed to show the thugs as victims?
Apparently so - all just a big hoax, according to their founder. One that the Establishment ran with dutifully, of course.
