Our own government, and a Conservative Government at that, has achieved what Hitler didn't manage.

Wisdom, decency, common sense, integrity, rationality and accountability have gone into the political and social lost and found, as we endure little more than mendacious puffs of feelgoodery from the Boris Buffoon, soundbites from the rest and increasingly strident demands from the purveyors of the wokus pokus which has embedded itself so successfully.

The rot took off with Blair and has now culminated in the economic devastation which has now befallen us.

Mass illegal migration continues, Blair is meddling once more with his mad masking recommendations, western Europe seems determined to immolate itself ,while the entire clusterfuck can be laid at Putin's door: he is now in poll position on the hit list, having dislodged Trump, Brexit, Israel and fossil fuels.

Net Zero is a costly ruinous fantasy, foisted on us by politicians and NGOs in thrall to Greta Thumbellina.

How will we bring an end to this and rid ourselves of these posturing, righteous mediocrities?

Stuffysays recommends Ron DeSantis ; agreed.

Excellent article!

I have long thought that we all did so well in the post war world that we cared about politics less and less. It never seemed to make much difference who you voted for (especially when Tony Blair came along - absolutely no difference in the main parties) and the chances are your vote never made any difference. Consequently, the gang of charlatans with egos the size of houses were left to parade around on the world stage. It's not just the UK is it? The whole western world is run by twats and incompetents because nobody thought it mattered any more. How we get out of this mess is anybody's guess - I see no sign of any politician with morality and courage anywhere (unless maybe we get Ron de Santis to run for world president!). People definitely need a good shake to wake them up otherwise one day we will see the Chinese coming over the horizon and then it will be too late. Bad times are ahead.

Absolutely. Maybe it will take a real crisis, that cannot be avoided or managed or postponed, to bring us to our senses. I guess its coming soon.

Indeed it did, but I take your point; it's just that self righteousness is at the top of my exasperated cynic's hit list

Not sure of your meaning. Self righteousness is marked on the other side surely
